No Not Having Fun Allowed

David Sedaris is my favorite writer of late. He has several books and I encourage you to read them to exercise your funny bone. davidsedaris.com Listening to him recently on CBC Radio cbc.ca/q he described a visit to his home in Normandy by some Welsh neighbors and their children. He set up a large tent in his side yard and threw some pillows and toys around inside so the kids would have a fun place to play. A little girl, perhaps seven years old, was a take-charge kind of person and immediately began reciting a list of rules for all those who were going to play in the tent. She proclaimed her first rule to be; 'No not having fun.'

Imagine the pure innocence of her intent. She wanted to assure herself and all those around her that there was going to be a simple price to pay to enjoy the tent, the toys, the pillows and her company; 'Decide to have fun ahead of time'. Unknowingly, she was practicing perfect creative visualization, exercising her power of intention, and ultimately manifesting what was to be with her soul-felt decree. And, in her own way, she was also teaching her playmates how she wished to be treated.

Ask yourself how your life would be, if you greeted every day with that little rule; 'No Not Having Fun Today'. I am going to post it up on my bathroom mirror as a reminder. -A.N.
