Consider your position financially at retirement or before...and perhaps travel more, or spend more time with the family you can tolerate for more than a few days... or, go on a spiritual hiatus somewhere beautiful and cheap. You can have near-travel experiences vicariously by reading, watching and listening to others via the media of your choice. I want to go to Bhutan for sure. It's a very interesting and spiritual place. I have a direct line to the king of Bhutan as it turns out. He's got a 9-hole golf course at the top of the world. But any remote place with a bit of food and running water is good for the soul-cleansing we all need to do as we approach the death of the physical and begin approaching the new life afterward.
