Lately, a lot of people have been telling me that they are going to start something. It may be a new career, a new enterprise, a new approach to their lives, a new relationship. Regardless of the nature of whatever endeavour, they all seem to have remarkable intentions, and most have enthusiasm for their plans. “This is going to be amazing” they will say. Or, “I’m going to see a huge financial return, this is it.” Yet, when I ask a few obvious questions, I have noticed that there is not one single “it” is actually started among them, and I ask myself, "Why?"

Coming up with a creative game-plan can be intimidating because once you have created your painting, business, or life-plan, it’s out there for all to see. And that can breed a sort of inertness based on fear of criticism, rejection or failure. Fear sets in and the mind can play tricks on you and it can draw you into all kinds of ego-centred reasons you should not get started. So your idea gets stuck in the limbo of possibilities and never becomes a probability. I have noticed that too am guilty of this more often than I care to admit. Dreamers are like that.
I’ve noticed there is a way around this business of having great ideas and electing to talk about them rather than taking the actions required to manifest them in your life.

Instead of talk, talk, talking about your plans, try going quietly about the business of doing something, anything, that contributes toward the accomplishment of what you are after.
It doesn’t need to be the big enchilada all at once either.it takes to get started is one small action. When you talk too much about your plans to anyone and everyone, your deplete the energy around the thought and that can really stall things. Well intentioned people can play Devil's advocate and get you second guessing yourself and your once marvelous and wonderful notion never takes off. Manifesting what you want can start in a seemingly inconsequential way.

For example, if you want to be a photographer, you might buy a book about the subject. If you want to start a unique business, you might collect a folder of research about similar businesses that you can reflect upon. If you want to be a goat farmer, go visit a goat farm. It is action that makes the creative impulse inside ofyou bigger and more real in your mind. And always, it is that one first action that can transform your creative idea into an amazing accomplishment.

I have a friend who wants to make a full-length animated movie that will cost $millions to produce. What did he do? Over the course of years, he wrote a script. Then he wrote the sequel. Then he started getting aligned with just the right people and just the right information at just the right time. While he waits for his ultimate goal to be achieved, he is busy with an almost-finished mobile application about the movie he will no doubt one day produce. He went through a whole series of actions to get things started rather than talking about his plans and doing little. Now, we are poised to market his application in advance of his movie. Amazing!
Show the Universe that you are ready to receive. Dare to put your ideas into action. There’s no need to ask yourself why. Just ask yourself “Why not!”
